xRover officially enters the German market

As of 11 August 2026 we are officially in Germany. The xRover REHA models are included in the GKV-Spitzenverband register of medical aids — with a doctor's prescription, statutory health insurance may cover the cost. Families are looked after by our Mertens team: Mirka and Nicol Brabec.

As of 11 August 2026, xRover is officially on the German market. For a Czech company that started with a single prototype of an all-terrain rehab chair, it is the biggest step in its history — and for German families, news that fundamentally changes access to our chairs.

A chair whose cost the health insurer may cover

The key to the German market is the inclusion of the xRover REHA models in the Hilfsmittelverzeichnis, the register of medical aids maintained by the GKV-Spitzenverband — the umbrella association of Germany's statutory health insurers. Inclusion means the chair is a recognised medical aid in Germany: with a doctor's prescription, statutory health insurance may cover the cost — children and teenagers under 18 are exempt from the statutory copayment (adults pay the statutory €5–10 copayment).

What it means for families — and how to apply for coverage

The road to an all-terrain chair no longer has to lead through savings or fundraising — coverage is decided by the insurer based on the doctor's prescription. The process has three steps:

  • A doctor's prescription (Verordnung) is issued by a paediatrician or specialist.
  • The family submits the prescription to their health insurer, which decides on coverage.
  • Once approved, the chair arrives individually adjusted and ready to go.

The official register of medical aids is publicly available at hilfsmittel.gkv-spitzenverband.de, and the REHADAT-GKV portal presents it in an accessible form. How the register works is explained by the GKV-Spitzenverband.

Mertens: the heart of our German representation

No register and no paragraph will sell a chair to a family that needs to be sure. That's why who represents xRover in Germany matters just as much. It is the Mertens company — and behind it stand two names above all.

What comes next

Germany is Europe's largest market for medical aids, and entering it is a commitment: we are building up service facilities, expanding the demo fleet and preparing German editions of all materials. We believe an all-terrain chair belongs to every family that wants to live outdoors — and as of 11 August, that includes families in Germany.
